Vic Baker, founder of BME, graduated from UBC in Mechanical Engineering. A five-year stint with the Defence Department in Ottawa, analysing component failures on naval aircraft, led to the decision to return to UBC to study Metallurgy, resulting in an M.A.Sc. in that discipline. Vic’s subsequent career included four years with a testing and inspection company, before BME was formed.
As president and a principal of BME, he has undertaken a very wide range of interesting engineering projects, including overseas assignments for large international firms. He is the companies specialist in engine and drive system failures, with particular interest in the marine industry.
