Ryan Hazlett, P.Eng., CFEI

Ryan graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has been with CEP Forensic since 2014. He works within the property group specializing in the area of failure analysis and fire investigation. Prior to joining CEP Forensic, Ryan gained valuable industry work experience during Co-op work terms where he got his first insight into failure analysis. At one facility, Ryan was responsible for reviewing failures and instituting corrective actions for failures on the shop floor, assembly errors and manufacturing defects. 

Ryan is now a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI) with NAFI and routinely completes fire origin and cause determinations on all types of structures, vehicles and equipment.  He has investigated numerous water losses and incidents regarding HVAC and mechanical equipment. Ryan’s failure investigations have included sprinkler malfunctions, industrial incidents, heavy equipment and farm equipment malfunctions. He’s also taken on large assignments involving the review and organization of complex litigation files related to property losses, as well as working with governmental bodies in the investigation of workplace incidents. Ryan has also been involved in the evaluation of engineering reports from other firms.
